Samsara
The premise of SAMSARA boils down superheroes placed in a medieval fantasy setting. People with strange powers and abilities would be a rarity, but still be known to exist within the world. It will deal with how the population would view people with superpowers when much of the supernatural was seen as magic, superstition, or deemed evil during the middle ages.
The existence of the supernatural is present in many stories of fantasy and the middle ages. However, these characters in those stories are almost always defined as some sort of Wizard, or Witch, or some other magical being of fantasy. In SAMSARA, superheroes are called Champions but the name doesn't matter, what matters is the intent.
What would superheroes do in a setting outside of the present day. What are their powers and how do they use them. Superheroes in fantasy already exist in all cultures as mythical heroes. The story of SAMSARA asks what if those heroes were human.
SAMSARA is divided into three SEASONS with an unofficial fourth season acting as a sort of prequel called PERISH. The first three SEASONS will be called:
FADED DIAMOND | LAST HORIZON | ETERNAL WOMB
Much of the story will revolve around a man named John Noble and his role in shaping what a Champion is, and ultimately what it will be. In LAST HORIZON, the story will revolve around a new set of characters but will also involve John Noble, though not as the main protagonist. ETERNAL WOMB will wrap up the story and resolve the arcs of the main characters.
PERISH will follow a character named Simon Perish and deliver crucial backstory to many characters and concepts of the world, including the history of the main antagonist of SAMSARA.
